Terra Nova removed PCBs from a storm sewer system and mobilized its resources to clean the site. Prior to decontamination, an inflatable pipe plug was installed into the drainage pipe for the purpose of containment. Cleaning was performed with a high-pressure jet to dislodge and move debris and sediment toward the working manhole, where it was subsequently collected with a stainless steel vacuum truck. In total, 12 manholes and catch basins were cleaned using high-pressure jets. Sampling, manifesting, transportation, and disposal of waste were conducted in accordance with all regulations.
Approximately 1,600 linear feet of sewer drainage pipe, ranging from 6” to 36” in diameter, inspected and cleaned, along with 8 catch basins and 4 manholes
